Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. seeks an Electronics Mechanic to support the Transfer Car and Machine Shop Maintenance within the Facilities Department in New London, CT.

The role requires 2nd shift availability and strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems. You will troubleshoot and repair servo and PLC-controlled equipment, read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints, and coordinate with outside contractors while adhering to OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in industrial and commercial electrical field including troubleshooting and repairing all types of control systems.
• 5+ years' experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.
• Must be able to read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints.
• Must be capable of minor installation of temporary wiring system.
• Must be able to work with outside contractors and machinery equipment vendors.
• Must be available to support weekend work and emergency situations.
• 2nd Shift Position

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo control and PLC types.
• Maintain and repair electrical components for automation systems.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints.
• Assist with installation of temporary wiring and electrical setups as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and equipment vendors during maintenance.
• Support weekend work and emergency responses as required.
