Hours: M-Th 6:00am - 3:15pm, Fri 6:00am - 12:00pm

Starting Pay: $17.00/hour

Position Summary

The Electronics Material Handler is responsible for counting, identifying, moving, and storing electronic components used to manufacture printed circuit board assemblies. This position performs inventory cycle counts, verifies component quantities, and ensures materials are placed in the correct inventory or production location.

The Material Handler uses electronic component reel counters, counting scales, computers, scanners, carts, and other material-handling equipment. Previous electronics or inventory experience is preferred but not required. The company is willing to train a dependable individual who demonstrates strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inventory cycle counts.
• Use electronic reel counters, counting scales, scanners, and other equipment to verify component quantities.
• Identify and count electronic components stored in reels, trays, tubes, bags, and other packaging.
• Compare physical quantities to inventory records and report discrepancies.
• Research basic inventory discrepancies by reviewing locations, labels, transactions, and related documentation.
• Move electronic components to the correct stockroom, production, inspection, or storage location.
• Complete required inventory transfers and material transactions accurately in the company’s computer system.
• Verify component part numbers, quantities, lot numbers, date codes, purchase order information, and storage locations.
• Maintain accurate labeling and traceability of electronic components.
• Return unused materials from production to the correct inventory location.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, and returning production materials as needed.
• Assist with preparing and delivering material kits to production areas.
• Separate and clearly identify damaged, questionable, expired, or nonconforming materials.
• Follow established procedures for moisture-sensitive, static-sensitive, and temperature-sensitive components.
• Handle electronic components and printed circuit boards according to ESD-control requirements.
• Follow inventory rotation requirements, including first-in, first-out practices when applicable.
• Monitor material locations and report shortages, overages, misplaced materials, or labeling concerns.
• Keep inventory shelves, storage areas, carts, and workstations clean and organized.
• Safely operate carts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other authorized material-handling equipment.
• Follow all company safety, quality, inventory-control, and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous material handling, inventory, warehouse, stockroom, or electronics manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to inventory accuracy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in stockroom, warehouse, and electronic manufacturing areas.
• The position requires regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, and moving materials between locations.
• Frequent use of reel counters, scales, computers, scanners, carts, ladders, and other material-handling equipment is required.
• Must have sufficient visual ability, with or without corrective lenses, to read small component labels, part numbers, and quantities.
• Must be able to handle small electronic components and packaging carefully.
• Must be able to lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must follow ESD, lifting, ladder, equipment-safety, and personal protective equipment requirements.

Training

The company will provide training in electronic component identification, inventory cycle counting, reel counter and scale operation, inventory transactions, material traceability, ESD controls, moisture-sensitive component handling, safety requirements, and company inventory procedures. The employee must successfully complete required training and demonstrate the ability to count, document, and move materials safely and accurately before working independently.
