Job summary

Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity in our on-site Engineering Test Lab in Davidson, NC for an Electronics Lab Technician II. You will validate new products and electrical components, design and fabricate controls simulators and test fixtures for HVAC and transport products, and collaborate across engineering to bring products to market.

This 1st shift role requires an Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical (or related) with 5+ years of experience, or 10+ years in

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical (or related technical discipline) and at least 5-years of relevant experience; OR at least 10-years of relevant electronics experience is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required

Responsibilities

• Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Support product development activities by designing and fabricating commercial HVAC system simulators with modest guidance from Engineering.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics components
• Execute electronics testing procedures for VFDs and motors developed by engineering teams, using programmable AC supplies, load systems, and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes
• Support end-to-end concept and validation controls testing with instrumentation and data acquisition setup with guidance from Engineering and Senior Technicians
• Drive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures
