Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Supervisor-Utilities Electronics to lead and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electronic equipment used in flood control, water pumping, and related systems within the Dallas Water Utility.

You will supervise staff, set priorities, train personnel, and ensure safe, compliant operations while coordinating with other teams to maintain continuous service to customers and citizens.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in installation, testing, diagnosis or repair of instrumentation or related electronic equipment.
• Experience supervising non-exempt staff in a maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of water distribution systems and protective control electronics.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for maintenance of electronics and electric systems within the Dallas Water Utility.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff; manage timekeeping and resources.
• Assist in long-range planning, budgeting, and scheduling for maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot electronic equipment and analyzers; verify maintenance standards and calibrations.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities; lead staff meetings for equipment availability and reliability.
• Monitor plant performance to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize chemicals usage.
• Resolve employee grievances; escalate as needed.
• Identify methods to improve production and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
