Job summary

Silvus Technologies in Irvine, CA is seeking an Engineering Technician - Electronics with a strong EE foundation. You will perform hands-on laboratory work, execute tests on RF, digital, and mechanical designs, and support design engineers with debugging.

This 100% onsite role reports to the Senior Engineering Director and involves preparing test configurations, assisting with manufacturing transfers, maintaining safety and documentation, and supporting product qualification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of electronics or RF hardware experience.
• Ability to read complex electrical schematics, PCB layouts, assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Hands-on soldering and mechanical assembly including fine-pitch components under a microscope.
• Knowledge of hand tools, screw types, and component sizing.
• Familiarity with basic scripting (Python, LabVIEW) to control instrumentation is desirable.
• U.S. Person due to contracts; background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Development Testing & Execution: perform detailed tests on RF, digital and mechanical designs under hardware engineers.
• Product Qualification Support: assist environmental stress testing to meet internal quality plans.
• Hands-On Laboratory Operations: SMT soldering, fixture construction, cable/wire harnessing, and prototypes.
• Hardware Debugging & Troubleshooting: identify root causes with engineers using diagnostic tools.
• Test Equipment Management: set up and operate VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Manufacturing & NPI Support: assist with transfer to CM and document test configurations.
• Data Collection & Documentation: log data, maintain notebooks, draft SOPs.
• Lab Maintenance & Safety: keep lab safe and organized, manage calibration intervals.
• Other related duties as needed.
