Flex-N-Gate is seeking an Electronics Cost Estimating Engineer to translate RFQ requirements into practical, cost-conscious electronics solutions and cost estimates. You will review SOWs, specifications, and technical information, work with engineers to define designs, and develop costed eBOMs and supporting estimates.

The role suits an engineer with hands-on design experience and a cost-conscious mindset. Prior cost-estimating experience is helpful but not required; strong engineering

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or closely related field.
• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant electrical/electronics design engineering experience.
• Ability to read customer SOWs and technical requirements and understand how they affect an electronics design.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on multiple estimates or projects at the same time.

Responsabilidades

• RFQ and Customer Requirement Review: Review RFQ packages, SOWs, specifications, drawings and other documents to identify electronics requirements that affect design and cost.
• Electronics Design and Cost Estimating: Develop or review preliminary electronic architectures, schematics, and eBOMs for quotation and design studies; develop costed eBOMs using supplier quotations, internal cost data, distributor pricing, and volume assumptions.
• Cost-Conscious Design and Program Support: Apply cost-conscious design mindset when evaluating components, PCB size/construction, and overall electronics architecture; update eBOM costs as designs mature.
• Reverse Engineering and Benchmarking: Support teardown and benchmarking activities to identify major components and cost drivers; compare benchmark designs with internal designs.
• Supplier, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Coordination: Work with Purchasing and suppliers to obtain component pricing, identify alternatives, and understand cost opportunities.
• AI-Assisted Engineering and Workflow Efficiency: Use AI tools to assist with research, RFQ/SOW review, requirements organization, eBOM comparisons, and cost delta analysis.
