Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Manufacturing Technician III to join our team in Austin, TX. You will assemble complex mechanical and electronic components, set up equipment, troubleshoot, and ensure quality and on-time delivery in a fast-paced startup-like environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in manufacturing or electronics assembly, strong hand-eye coordination, color differentiation, and the ability to work with engineers to implement designs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical/ electronics assembly, or related operations.
• Experience interpreting schematics, drawings, diagrams, or visual aides for assembly.
• Ability to work with team members to ensure clear production roles.
• Regular communication with engineers and design staff to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Experience using tools to make or repair parts and products.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to differentiate colors to identify colored wires.
• Familiarity with routine preventive maintenance and inventory management.
• Familiarity with ESD and FOD-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components using drawings and procedures.
• Set up equipment, perform tooling changes, and troubleshoot to meet production needs.
• Resolve routine manufacturing issues while upholding quality and safety standards.
• Assist with assembly, buildout, and checkout of automation equipment and tooling.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing route steps, work instructions, and standardized work in MES.
• Support engineering and senior technicians with troubleshooting and new product introductions.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections with precision tools.
• Verify assemblies meet drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
• Record production, inspection, traceability, and nonconformance data.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Assist in new product introductions, equipment setup, process improvements, and inventory accuracy.
• Provide guidance to Manufacturing Technicians on methods and procedures.
• Apply safety, quality, and company policies throughout production.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and participate in 5S/continuous improvement.
• Recommend safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency improvements.
