Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in electronics and four years of power plant maintenance experience.
• Solid knowledge of NEC and NESC electrical standards.
• Ability to prepare plant and line construction drawings and electrical layouts.
• Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists engineers with technical requirements of the Authority's generating facilities.

The Electronic Technician II

Assists engineers in performing technical engineering requirements of the Authority's generating facilities. Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate the system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations. • Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Plant Electrician Supervisor and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronics units.
• Assembles experimental circuitry (beadboard) or complete prototype model.
• Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
• Analyzes and interprets test data.
• Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
• Fabricates and tests electronic circuits; may fabricate parts where close tolerances are required.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and makes necessary modifications or repairs.
• Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Uses established and well-defined engineering procedures; gathers and correlates basic engineering data.

Graduate of an accredited college with an Associate of Science degree in electronics or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in power plant maintenance.
