Job summary

Smith+ Nephew Life Unlimited division is seeking an Electronic Technician II to support manufacturing and service operations in Oklahoma City. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test electromechanical medical instruments using approved procedures, drawings, and documentation.

Applicants should have 2–4 years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and an associate degree in electronics preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as Electronic Technician or related field
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing analog and digital electromechanical systems
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust, and test analog and digital electromechanical medical instruments according to established procedures and specifications
  • Accurately document repairs, inspections, and testing activities in Device History Records (DHRs) and other quality documentation
  • Create labels and package medical instruments and assemblies for shipment
  • Complete daily work cell performance metric tracking and reporting
  • Evaluate repair requirements and assist with preparation of customer repair quotations

As an Electronic Technician II, you will perform routine troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and testing of electromechanical medical instruments and assemblies using approved procedures, drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation. You will be responsible for ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing and service environment.

What will you be doing?
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust, and test analog and digital electromechanical medical instruments according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Accurately document repairs, inspections, and testing activities in Device History Records (DHRs) and other quality documentation.
  • Create labels and package medical instruments and assemblies for shipment.

What will you need to be successful?
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics from an accredited two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Equivalent military electronics training and experience may be substituted.
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience as an Electronic Technician, Service Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or in a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience performing diagnostics using technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electronic test equipment.
  • Medical device, manufacturing, or regulated industry experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience using electronic test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Physical Demands

Ability to lift and handle materials up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements

Less than 10% travel required.
