Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking an Electronic Technician I to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies of basic to moderate complexity. You will read drawings and BOMs, interpret wiring diagrams and schematics, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and testing.

You will also inspect final checkout, document actions, and assist with training new staff. A High School diploma or GED is required, with an Associate’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with lab equipment
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, ladder logic, schematics and Gerber files
• Bench troubleshooting using diagrams, discrete components and relays
• Comfort with measuring in millimeters and using power supplies
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Willingness to train new employees on testing tasks
• Able to understand and follow written and verbal English instructions

Responsibilities

• Assemble junction boxes, controls, and assemblies per drawings.
• Install and test completed electronic assemblies.
• Inspect final electronics checkout as the inspector for quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and testing.
• Contribute to wiring diagram/interconnect drawing reviews.
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies for production and after-market support.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment by following procedures and rules.
• Document actions with production and quality forms.
