The primary focus is installation, supported by maintenance and service assignments. The right candidate combines practical field skills with strong networking knowledge, works independently within an approved scope, and delivers reliable systems, accurate documentation, and professional customer service.

Systems You Will Support

Electronic access control, IP video surveillance and recording, intrusion detection, and integrated security platforms. Assignments may also involve visitor management, connected devices, and mechanical or electromechanical locking hardware that interfaces with electronic access control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install security devices, cabling, terminations, and supporting infrastructure in accordance with approved plans, manufacturer instructions, applicable codes, and customer requirements.
  • Program and configure access control, IP video, and intrusion systems, including network connectivity and interfaces with associated hardware and software.
  • Diagnose and repair device, wiring, power, software, and network problems using on-site troubleshooting and authorized remote diagnostics.
  • Test and commission completed installations and repairs. Verify device operation, system functions, and alarm transmission to the monitoring center when applicable.
  • Coordinate network changes and system access with authorized customer IT personnel. Protect credentials and follow customer security requirements.
  • Provide practical end-user training and explain system operation, service needs, and any unresolved issues clearly.
  • Work safely, protect customer property, secure tools and materials, and leave each work area clean and orderly.
Field Execution and Project Closeout
  • Review assigned scope, drawings, and material needs before starting work. Identify shortages, site constraints, and technical issues early; assist with site surveys and estimating when directed.
  • Record time accurately against the correct job or service ticket. Document work performed, materials used or returned, test results, configuration changes, and remaining work.
  • Keep the designated supervisor informed of progress, schedule risks, and customer concerns. Obtain approval before performing work outside the authorized scope or making additional commitments.
  • Complete service tickets and installation records promptly, including updated device information, marked-up drawings, and customer handoff documentation as applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of hands-on experience installing, programming, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control, IP video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems.
  • Practical networking knowledge, including IP addressing, connectivity testing, and troubleshooting security equipment on customer networks.
  • Ability to read and apply blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer installation and operating manuals.
  • Competence with hand and power tools, test equipment, and computers used to install and support electronic security systems.
  • High school diploma or GED; clear verbal and written communication; organized work habits; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable for company vehicle use; ability to meet applicable registration and customer site access requirements.
Preferred Experience and Certifications

Manufacturer training, certification, or proficiency with AMAG, BRIVO, GALAXY, DOOR KING and AVIGILON ALTA; and video platforms or devices from AXIS, AVIGILON, HANWHA.
