Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electronics or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Tektronix oscilloscopes is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Ohm's law and electronics theory.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, inspect and repair electronic test equipment, focusing on oscilloscopes and waveform generators.
  • Recognize failures, isolate problems and take corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as directed.
  • Escalate repair issues that are lengthy or complex.
  • Support Calibration Laboratory and Sales on production tasks and collaborate with other departments.

About This Position Electronic Technician – This position is tasked with troubleshooting and repairing electronic test and measurement equipment, with an emphasis on Tektronix. Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, inspects, and repairs a wide variety of electronic test and measurement equipment, with a focus on oscilloscopes and waveform generators.
  • Recognizes failures and setup problems, isolate problems, and take appropriate action to resolve those problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Ensures escalation of issues if repairs become problematic or lengthy.
  • Provides support to the Calibration Laboratory and Sales Team on all production assignments and works with other departments for miscellaneous assignments.
  • Troubleshoots electronic components to determine cause and remedy of any malfunction.
  • Ensures that all repairs meet manufactures specifications and exceeds Avalon's quality standards.
  • Determines if the designated product passes all test cycles. Collects diagnostic information needed and enters it into our tracking software.
  • Cleans, re-labels and re-packages equipment in relation to the above activities.
  • Fabrication for repair of instruments needed.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Ohms law and electronic theory.
  • Experience in through hole and surface mount soldering.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing Tektronix oscilloscopes.
  • A passionate, energetic attitude and a genuine love of working as part of a team.

Education Associate Degree Required

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in an electronic discipline preferred.
