Job summary

Keytronic in Springdale, AR seeks a Test Tech to efficiently operate test equipment, troubleshoot test fixtures and boards, and follow complex procedures using oscilloscopes, generators, and probes. The role requires reading schematics with minimal supervision and contributing to quality control efforts.

Essential duties include configuring test setups, performing electrical calculations, and documenting findings while maintaining strict ESD practices and safety standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow complicated test/repair procedures.
  • Configure test setup from test procedures.
  • Perform Ohm's Law calculations and tolerance analysis.
  • Troubleshoot PCB assemblies and external test items.
  • Test, diagnose, and repair electronic assemblies.
  • Document findings and report recurring issues.
  • Familiarize with and certify on test equipment for all returned assemblies.
  • Maintain attention to detail and manage multiple priorities.

Job Summary

Test Tech must efficiently and accurately operate test equipment, troubleshoot both the test equipment (external fixture diagnosis) and failed boards, follow complicated test procedures that may involve oscilloscopes, functional or signal generators, and frequency counters, and interpret schematics with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions
  • Understand and follow complicated test/repair procedures
  • Configure test setup from test procedures
  • Perform mathematical computations (Ohm’s Law calculations, tolerance analysis)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for PCB assembly
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for external items of Functional Tester
  • Test, diagnose, and repair electronic assemblies
  • Document findings and report repetitive/recurring failures
  • Familiarize with and certify on test equipment for all returned electronic assemblies
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail and juggle multiple priorities
  • Use proper ESD handling techniques
  • Think independently using training knowledge
  • Follow routers and ISO instructions specifically
  • Stand for long periods of time; move about rapidly
  • Handle a flexible workload
  • Lift and carry as required
  • Ensure proper quality of work
  • Perform other duties as directed by management or supervision
  • Be courteous and respectful of all employees
  • Maintain a positive attitude and accept change quickly
Other Functions
  • Trained in, use, and enforce use of proper ESD handling

  • Follow ISO instructions for the Engineering Department

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or one year equivalent experience
  • Strong aptitude for electronics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field
  • Two years’ experience with electronics prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and repair
Physical Demands

The employee frequently sits, occasionally stands; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; and talks or hears. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
