Job summary

Staco Systems in Irvine, California seeks an Electronic Lab Technician to build and test prototype electronic and electromechanical assemblies within an engineering environment.

The role supports troubleshooting, diagnosis of manufacturing defects, and qualification testing of new and existing products, with potential travel to outside testing facilities. Strong knowledge of electronics and good communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is desired.
• 4+ years working in an engineering lab environment.
• Experience with surface mount PCBAs.
• Experience with microcontrollers and firmware.
• Experience with electro-mechanical products.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Build and debug prototype PCB assemblies.
• Build and debug manufacturing test jigs and fixtures.
• Analyze product returns down to component level.
• Collect data, interpret trends, and report to management.
• Support qualification testing of new and existing products; travel may be required.
