PRIMARY FUNCTION
Assemble kits made of electrical and mechanical components and fasteners. Perform assembly of cable/wire harnesses, electrical and mechanical wire and component integration on assemblies made of composites and metal material to IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 and 610 standards. The position requires the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, part numbers and their descriptions including markings and workmanship requirements for acceptability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Read drawings, use tools, communicate with co‑workers and supervisor, and handle multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Follow a process.
- Review drawings and bills of material for part descriptions of electrical and mechanical components, fasteners, wires, connectors, washers, spacers and similar parts.
- Assemble kits using kitting instructions with accurate reading of parts, quantities and revisions.
- Assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies using shop tools such as wrenches, torque drivers, hand tools, Go‑No‑Go gauges.
- Accurately assemble, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and/or mechanical parts using examples or assembly drawings, instructions or schematics with minimal supervision.
- Have soldering and harness hands‑on experience per IPC‑610 and 620 class‑3 specifications.
- Instruct co‑workers with job training and fabrication set‑ups.
- Fill forms, record data, verify count accuracy, and check assembly descriptions, dimensions, size and color.
- Background and prior work experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, military, or army, with similar experience, is considered a plus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. Personnel who demonstrate consistent leadership and communication skills, combined with technical knowledge and proactive involvement with people and processes, are generally considered for promotion to a lead role and subsequently acquire greater responsibilities.

- Beginner to intermediate computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
- Enter data accurately into databases.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
- Maintain trustworthiness and handle confidential information routinely.
- Use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or trade school graduate with 5–10 years of technical experience in aerospace, military, defense, manufacturing, army, assembly, or similar background.
- Demonstrable knowledge of simplistic tasks associated with the fabrication and assembly of electronic and mechanical hardware assemblies.
- Some work experience as an assembler or apprentice is considered a plus.
- Pass a drug and background screening.
- Know how to use a computer, multitask and follow a process; overtime may be required.
- Obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
