Job summary

Banner Engineering is seeking an assembler to build electronic systems and support structures using hand tools and soldering. First shift runs 7 am - 3:30 pm at the Plymouth, MN facility, with responsibilities including wiring, soldering, testing, and packaging of subassemblies and final products.

Responsibilities also cover reading drawings, maintaining reports, and collaborating with supervisors to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Ability to use a computer, hand tools, gauges and testers.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours per day while soldering and inspecting.
• Microscope inspections and precision dexterity required.
• Lifting up to 30 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assemble subassemblies and final product per SOPs.
• Wire, solder and encapsulate PC boards and units.
• Test, label, package and deliver to stockroom.
• Repair or replace defective parts to meet specs.
• Read drawings and work orders to determine materials.
• Position and align parts for wiring and assembly.
• Maintain production, time and waste reports.
• Coordinate with supervisors/engineers to plan work.
• Explain assembly procedures to other workers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electronic systems and support structure with a soldering iron or other hand tools to install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings. Openings are currently available on first shift (7 am - 3:30 pm, M-F) at our PLY Building located at 925 US-169, Plymouth, MN 55441

What You’ll Be Contributing

• Assemble subassemblies and/or final product following instructions from matrix documentation and SOPs.
• Place, wire, solder, and utilize hot soldering iron to connect and encapsulate PC boards and/or units.
• Test, label, package, and deliver to stockroom.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
• Position, align, and adjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring and assembly.
• Complete, review, and maintain production, time, and component waste reports.
• May confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and to resolve production problems.
• May explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
• Other duties as assigned

Required

• Ability to move, carry, or lift objects or materials weighing up to 30 pounds frequently

Pay Range: $20.61-$21.65

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
