Job summary

Banner Engineering seeks an assembler to join our Brooklyn Park, MN team. You will assemble electronic subassemblies and final products, wire, solder, and encase components according to SOPs and matrix docs.

You will read drawings, test and label parts, maintain reports, and collaborate with supervisors to resolve production issues. This first shift (6:30–3:00) offers a manufacturing environment with a strong benefits package including 401(k) with match and medical, dental, and vision plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to read English.
• Ability to use a computer, hand tools, gauges and testers.
• Attention to detail and quality, able to work independently.
• Willingness to sit for long periods and perform soldering with a hot iron.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble subassemblies and final products following SOPs and matrix docs.
• Wire, solder, and encapsulate PC boards and units with a soldering iron.
• Test, label, package, and deliver to stockroom.
• Adjust or replace components to meet specifications.
• Read drawings, work orders, and reports to determine material needs.
• Position and align parts to facilitate wiring and assembly.
• Complete and maintain production and waste reports.
• Consult with supervisors or engineers to plan production activities.
• Explain assembly procedures to other workers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electronic systems and support structure with a soldering iron or other hand tools to install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings. Openings are currently available on first shift (6:30-3 pm, M-Th, 6-2:30 F) at our Brooklyn Park Facility.

What You’ll Be Contributing

• Assemble subassemblies and/or final product following instructions from matrix documentation and SOPs.
• Place, wire, solder, and utilize hot soldering iron to connect and encapsulate PC boards and/or units.
• Test, label, package, and deliver to stockroom.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
• Position, align, and adjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring and assembly.
• Complete, review, and maintain production, time, and component waste reports.
• May confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and to resolve production problems.
• May explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
• Other duties as assigned

Required

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day to perform hand solder with hot soldering iron, inspect boards under a microscope, make simple repairs, etc.
• Uses microscope for precision work and to perform inspections.
• Perform simple hand grasp and dexterity required to solder, encapsulate, correct defects, hold tools, etc.
• Ability to move, carry, or lift objects or materials weighing up to 30 pounds frequently

Pay Range: $20.92-21.97

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
