Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician I to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of electro-mechanical medical devices. You will handle test stands, set-up, and monitor testing activities in a Round Lake, IL facility.

The role requires hands-on instrumentation, data acquisition, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings. 1st shift, onsite only, 12-month assignment with 8 AM–5 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge based on testing, lab or related experience (minimum 6 years).
• Understanding of electromechanical systems and ability to recognize abnormalities.
• Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook; strong documentation skills.
• Background with measurement test equipment.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of PLC, Ladder Logic, and Micro-controllers is a plus.
• AA Degree preferred; High School diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Test products in Reliability Test Lab according to requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and document test data and results.
• Provide accurate and timely test reports and communicate results to engineers.
• Perform teardown testing and test-to-failure activities as part of development.
• Verify and validate changes; test competitive products as part of development.
• Collaborate on product failure analysis and suggest design improvements.
• Set up testing equipment including environmental chambers and meters.
• Design and document testing configurations and create test reports.
