Job Overview

The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift will be a key member of the Operations team at our UHT facility, focusing on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, automation, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures or malfunctions promptly to minimize production interruptions. This role will conduct preventative maintenance activities while collaborating with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures for improved equipment performance and reliability.

Shift

10:30am to 7:00am

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, automation, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures or malfunctions promptly to minimize production interruptions.
  2. Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on industrial machinery, including rotary machines, conveyor systems, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and other production equipment in a timely manner to identify potential issues, defects, or malfunctions.
  3. Operate, troubleshoot, and repair Steam, Refrigeration, and Wastewater systems.
  4. Conduct regular preventive maintenance activities according to a predefined schedule to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  5. Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical resources to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  6. Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures for improved equipment performance and reliability.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and parts inventory, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  8. Utilize SAP for completing purchase requisitions.
  9. Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  11. Coordinate with other team members, vendors, and external contractors for specialized repairs or technical assistance.
  12. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  13. Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  14. Train and assist operators in equipment maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
Requirements
  1. At least 5+ years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
  2. H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  3. Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, automation (PLC), VFDs (inverters and drives), mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  6. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  7. Solid understanding of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
  8. Stainless Steel and Sanitary Welding skills are a plus.
  9. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  10. Familiarity with CMMS for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
  11. Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong communication skills.
  12. Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of safety regulations.
  13. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  14. Ability to work at elevated heights; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  15. Boiler Experience – NJ Blue or Black Seal Boiler License is a plus.
