Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks an Electromechanical Technician for the RMS team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. You will fabricate, modify and build to print electro-mechanical assemblies, read complex documentation, and maintain IPC/JSTD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.

Role requires associating degree or equiv., 5+ years of experience, and willingness to travel. Overtime and some weekends may be required; safety, PPE and ESD practices are essential to daily work.

Qualifications

• Typically requires associate's degree or equivalent with five or more years of experience.
• IPC JSTD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification a plus.
• Must be willing to work with and around radioactive materials.
• Must be willing to work overtime and some weekends when required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft operating system and SAP/Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists in fabrication, modification, installation and build to print moderate to complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Reads and understands process, drawings, schematics, wire lists and procedures.
• Identifies discrepancies and escalates promptly.
• Maintains a neat, organized workspace using 5S methodology.
• Works with calibrated tools and PPE in an ESD safe environment.
• May travel to support customers and GA-EMS sites as needed.
