The University of Texas at Austin's Center for Electromechanics is seeking a Research Engineering/Scientist Associate II to collaborate with engineers to design and test high-performance prototype components for electric machines, hydrogen energy systems, and grids solutions. Responsibilities include modeling, drawings, fabrication/process development, and presenting technical updates to sponsors.

A Master's or Bachelor's with two years' experience is required, with CAD and programming skills

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in related field or Bachelor's degree plus 2 years' experience.
• Experience with professional engineering modelling software.
• Willingness to train on-the-job to add skills listed under preferred qualifications.
• U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident required to support export controls and sponsored research.

Aufgaben

• Support design and development of components and assemblies for advanced electro-mechanical prototypes by performing structural and thermal analyses and developing physics-based models.
• Develop engineering models, drawings, and schematics for prototype components and assemblies; procure items and verify conformance to specs.
• Develop fabrication, assembly, and testing processes for prototype components; participate to support development and validation.
• Support operations and demonstration testing of components and systems for advanced prototypes across electro-mechanical systems.
• Contribute to technical meetings, produce reports, and present status updates for sponsors.
