Job summary

Critical Loop, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Product Development team.

You will build, wire, and test prototype electromechanical systems, move between shop floor tasks and development tests, and troubleshoot alongside engineers to transform early designs into repeatable, high-quality builds. You will read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams, set up test equipment, and document data and issues with traceability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering technician roles in energy hardware.
• Experience building and testing precision electromechanical hardware to print.
• Strong ability to read and build from engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Hands-on experience with precision assembly and electrical harnessing, including torque specs and connectors.
• Experience setting up test instrumentation and collecting reliable data.
• Awareness of electrical safety practices around high-energy equipment.
• Ability to work on-site in Long Beach/Torrance and lift ~50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, and assemble prototype electromechanical skids, cabinets, switchgear, and subassemblies from drawings and work instructions.
• Perform HV/LV wire routing, harnessing, crimps, terminations, and connectors to specification.
• Set up and operate bench and hardware-in-the-loop test equipment (inverters, load banks, DAQ systems, sensors).
• Execute development and validation testing and capture traceable data for engineering.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Identify build/test issues and work with engineering to determine root causes and next steps.
• Verify and redline drawings/work instructions based on test experience.
• Document nonconformances and provide feedback to improve designs, builds, processes.
• Maintain organized lab tools and ensure calibration is current.
• Follow safety practices around high-voltage systems (LOTO, PPE).
• Collaborate with Electrical & Controls Engineering, Production, Test, Quality, and Field Service.
