Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a hands-on electro-mechanical technician in Austin, TX.

The role involves routine to moderately complex electrical and mechanical tasks, testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of advanced electronics and electro-mechanical systems, with opportunities for process improvement and field upgrades. Responsibilities include documenting procedures, conducting tests per specifications, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with electro-mechanical systems and related testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine to moderately complex electro-mechanical technical functions including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.
• Test and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
• Perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts to perform routine testing and troubleshooting.
• Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation with clear writing.
• May perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms to Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and specifications.
• Observe safety standards and maintain a safe, clean work environment; report accidents or hazards.
• Become familiar with current manufacturing/engineering processes and assist in problem correction.
• May perform rework from testing and generate Quality Notifications.
