Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team of electromechanical technicians in a high-mix, low-volume environment near Longmont, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience, an associate's degree in a technical field, and familiarity with ERP systems, Gemba walks, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of validated supervision in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Associate's degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
• Experience in space, aerospace, or medical device manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software.
• Knowledge of Gemba walk methodology and continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and build trust within the team.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety protocols and maintain a healthy working environment.
• Supervise a team of electromechanical and mechanical technicians.
• Establish a flexible, cross-trained workforce to meet production needs.
• Coordinate with planning, engineering, and supply chain to ensure backlog.
• Provide feedback to leadership and engineering to drive improvements.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staffing levels.
• Schedule training and manage certifications.
• Collaborate with HR on corrective actions and employee counseling.
• Ensure on-the-job training for direct and contract workers.
• Monitor calibration status and align with Quality on build needs.
• Lead production-focused Gemba walks and use ERP for production activities.
• Work with QA to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Lead storage and handling of materials and finished goods.
