RTX seeks an Electro Optical Systems Engineer Intern to join the Advanced Products & Solutions Mission Area and help design advanced EO systems, including imagers, tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy platforms.

You will work with a team to translate mission requirements into design and verification plans, contribute to system architecture assessments, and gain hands-on experience in aerospace defense engineering.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Physics, Optics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses or apertures.
• Familiarity with fundamental optical principles including geometrical and physical optics, imaging systems, aberrations or detectors.
• Hands-on optical testing or alignment experience through coursework or lab work.

Responsabilités

• Support development and build of electro-optical systems including imagers, EO tracking, LIDAR and directed energy systems.
• Assess mission/system requirements and derive design and performance requirements for subsystems and units.
• Assist in verification and test activities to contribute to IV&V planning.
