Job summary

Raytheon’s Electro-Optics Department is seeking motivated students for internships/co-ops and potential full-time roles in Tucson. You will learn and support on complex sensor/ seeker systems, including optical, electrical, and mechanical integration, while working onsite to advance design, testing, and production activities.

The role emphasizes learning subsystem architecture, supporting design reviews, and contributing to engineering solutions in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Optical or Systems Engineering or related STEM field.
• Coursework or experience in optical design, alignment, and laboratory testing.
• ABET accreditation preferred but not required; 3.0 GPA desired.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist on development programs, supporting subsystem architecture and hardware design.
• Support program activities as mentee and individual contributor.
• Perform optical alignment/testing of telescope assembly processes, plus EO modeling.
• Assist in requirements development, validation, and subsystem trade studies.
• Contribute to design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems and test fixtures.
