Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking an Electro/Mechanical Test Technician for its operations center in Creedmoor, Texas. In this role, you will perform tests and inspections on electro-mechanical products while working closely with engineering for troubleshooting and repairs.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in electronics, at least 2 years of related experience and proficiency with various test equipment. Competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including 401(k) and medical plans are offered.

Electro/Mechanical Test Technician

Become part of a dynamic aerospace company. Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is currently looking for Test Technicians for its operations center in Creedmoor, NC. Ontic is engaged primarily in electro-mechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.

Ontic has a long history in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.

The Electro/Mechanical Test Technician

The position will have the following responsibilities:

• Perform test and/or inspection of electro‑mechanical product.
• Have knowledge and experience with products containing armature/hairspring technology, or relevant experience with technologies comprising coil’s, magnetic field & spindle designs.
• Set up and utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators and multimeters.
• Complete and maintain all required documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist engineering personnel in troubleshooting, modification, and/or repair of non‑conforming units.
• Perform additional duties including, but not limited to, calibration, in‑line inspection, and final inspection of units/assemblies.
• Maintain test production equipment and fixtures, including soldering ability.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues that arise and create positive solutions.
• Provide support and resolve issues with test equipment supplied by the transition group.

Candidate Experience / Qualifications

Minimum educational and work experience requirements for the successful candidate will include the following:

• Associate’s degree in electronics field or equivalent military training.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an electro‑mechanical or electronic test environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot from schematics, and assist in writing test procedures.
• Proficiency in the use of test, inspection and calibration equipment.
• Hands‑on manufacturing/shop floor experience.
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
• Proven ability to initiate and execute change into mature processes.
• Mechanically inclined and understands production fabrication and assembly.
• Solid knowledge of machining principles and methods including conventional and non‑conventional applications.
• Deep firsthand knowledge of manufacturing operations, with the ability to provide real‑time shop support with solid troubleshooting skills leading to consistent production and quality.

Candidates shall be required to successfully conduct testing procedures and a physical dexterity assessment during interview.
