Job summary

Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Inc is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Creedmoor, NC. This role involves assembling parts for high voltage Integrated Power Node Centers and troubleshooting failures using test equipment. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in electronics along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Job description

Position

Electro‑Mechanical Technician – Creedmoor, NC

Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts into sub‑assemblies, units, or systems for heavy‑duty and high voltage Integrated Power Node Centers (IPNCs).
  • Use drawings, final assembly blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to assemble units.
  • Troubleshoot and rework assembled units that fail standard tests.
  • Perform tests and inspections of IPNC electronic product using oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators, multimeters, and other test equipment.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation and records accurately and promptly.
  • Assist engineering personnel in troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing non‑conforming units.
  • Calibrate, conduct in‑line inspections, and perform final inspections of units/assemblies.
  • Perform maintenance on all test production equipment and fixtures, including soldering.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and develop positive solutions.
  • Provide support and resolve issues with test equipment supplied by the transition group.
  • Adhere to company policies including general workmanship, FOD control, and documentation standards.
  • Provide coverage during operational hours (may include early swing, night shifts, or fixed hours) and be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Comply with production processes, procedures, schedules, and record‑keeping standards using ERP, MRP, or MES systems.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in electronics or equivalent military training.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an electro‑mechanical or electronic test environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot from schematics, and assist in writing test procedures.
  • Proficiency in the use of test, inspection, and calibration equipment.
  • Hands‑on manufacturing or shop‑floor experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
  • Proven ability to initiate and execute changes in mature processes.
  • Mechanically inclined with understanding of production fabrication and assembly.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing operations and ability to provide real‑time shop support with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with soldering (J‑STD‑001 & IPC‑A‑610 preferred).
  • Experience with wiring and wiring harnesses.
  • Knowledge of high‑voltage IPNC electronic product.
  • Must successfully conduct testing procedures and a physical dexterity assessment during the interview.
