Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Engineer in Burnsville, MN to lead end-to-end electro-mechanical testing across environmental, electrical systems, power, and EMI domains.

You will develop test plans, execute procedures, document results, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive design improvements and qualification approvals.

The role emphasizes hands-on labor in lab environments, MIL-STD considerations where applicable, and clear technical reporting for customer reviews.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years in test engineering or electro-mechanical testing.
• Experience with environmental, EMI/EMC, and power testing.
• Ability to develop test plans and procedures from requirements.
• Strong documentation and reporting of test results.
• Familiarity with wiring diagrams and hardware documentation.
• Background in defense-related environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans based on product requirements.
• Create detailed test procedures with pass/fail criteria and documented results.
• Conduct qualification tests in lab environments and follow Mil-Std where applicable.
• Test power, data, and environmental interfaces to verify function and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers to communicate findings and suggest design improvements.
