Provide technical support to maintain safety and improve and optimize manufacturing operations and processes within manufacturing facility. This position has responsibility for maintaining safe working practices while improving conversion costs in manufacturing, directly impacting competitiveness and profitability in the AFNA business.
Maintains Safety as the number one priority in conducting daily responsibilities, responding to production crew needs, and developing and implementing process improvements for quality, waste and productivity improvement. Supports the World Class Operations Management implementation as an active participant on teams and/or pillars. Investigates causes of ongoing process, quality, production efficiency and high waste problems. Then develops solutions using problem solving techniques. Trains machine operators on new equipment installations, modifications, and new operating procedures. Maintains standard operating conditions system which ensures consistent manufacturing equipment processing conditions. Works with plant BPI resources to ensure technical support resources are available to production at all times. Works with manufacturing supervisors, production crews, and maintenance to troubleshoot manufacturing problems and develop corrective actions to eliminate the return of those problems Participates in the evaluation of projects and waivers to aid in the effective scheduling and necessary product development coverage to minimize the risk of machine downtime and high waste due to developmental efforts in manufacturing. Works with plant project engineering to facilitate equipment modifications to increase machine productivity and reduce waste. Initiates and documents procedures to safely increase machine productivity and reduce waste while maintaining product quality per customer expectations. Participates in the training of machine operators on new equipment installations, equipment modifications and new operating procedures. May provide supervision to engineering co-op students depending on experience and workload, including performance evaluations, training and directing activities Lead the development and execution of vision strategies for custom automation projects, delivering robust solutions for complex quality assurance requirements and advanced robotic functions. Design, program, configure, debug, and document vision systems to ensure functional, reliable, and cost-effective performance. Perform optical performance testing and define specifications for components, environmental conditions, and communication interfaces to support mechanical, electrical, and control engineering design. Provide both remote and on-site technical support to engineers, electricians, and builders, ensuring optimal system performance and full validation. Create standardized vision documentation for machine manuals and performance improvement initiatives to enhance communication, accuracy, and reliability while reducing development time and costs. Utilize technologies and platforms such as Cognex, Keyence, etc. Plan, coordinate, and lead acceptance testing while supporting all validation activities. Develop comprehensive technical resources, including manuals, drawings, models, training materials, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and processes. Provide troubleshooting expertise during machine commissioning and ramp-up, along with occasional support for existing operations requiring Subject Matter Expert involvement.

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $85,600 to $107,000; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $85,600 to $128,400 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations.
