Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an electro-mechanical assembler in California to build and test PCB assemblies and sub-systems for space flight related products. You will interpret blueprints, follow SOPs, and perform precise assembly with calibrated tools.

You will conduct electrical tests, apply conformal coatings, and document any non-conformances or rework required. Strong attention to quality and safety is essential in this hands-on manufacturing role.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling electro-mechanical components to drawings and specs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with quality checks and documentation of non-conformances.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electro-mechanical PCB assemblies into product chassis.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications for assembly and SOPs.
• Test assemblies using electronics test equipment.
• Use precision tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers).
• Perform visual inspection to drawings and specs.
• Document non-conformances and rework as needed.
• Solder through-hole and SMT components; apply coatings as required.

Job description

Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Electro-Mechanical assembly of printed circuit board assemblies into product chassis
• Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
• Tests Electro-Mechanical assemblies by executing test procedures and operating a variety of electronics equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, mega-ohm and milli-ohm meters, etc.
• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
• Perform visual inspection of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
• Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
• Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
• Mixes and applies conformal coat, masking, epoxies and polyurethane and coatings
• Meets necessary certification as required
• Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required

Compensation

$22-47/hour depending on years of experience and skillset.
