Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a design documentation support professional to ensure proper release of new designs and revisions. You will verify GD&T compliance, ASME standards, and interface with CAD tools like NX and SolidWorks while coordinating with engineers on material specs and processes. The role requires at least a HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with 2+ years of experience and 3D CAD exposure.

U.S. citizenship is required for access to contract information; relocation is not offered.

Responsibilities

Design database and documentation checking for new designs and releases.

Apply manufacturing knowledge to ensure cost-effective designs.
Prepare hardware design documentation for release and control changes.
Enter data into the documentation control system.
Support CAD tools and test/debug software related to tools when requested.
Validate revision capture and change requirements in design data.

Job description

Perform design database and documentation checking for new design and drawing release or revisions to existing design and design drawings and documentation
Assist engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes and processes, connectors, and electrical or mechanical components
Apply knowledge of manufacturing, tolerancing, and producibility capabilities during the design process to ensure cost effective design
Apply Company, Industry, and Contractual standards during the preparation of hardware design and documentation data
Complete necessary technical documentation for the release of hardware design
Enter data into the company documentation control system
Assist the CAD tool support team in testing and debugging software tools when requested
Validate change definition artifacts for revisions to existing design and drawing/documentation
Validate revision capture definition into formal design and documentation data in accordance with defined change requirements
Provide design database and documentation checking for new design and drawing release

Requirements

Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Understanding of GD&T principles
Understanding of ASME standards
Understanding of PDM (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, etc.)
Experience with 3D CAD modeling software (NX or SolidWorks preferred)
Experience assisting engineers or projects
Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
Relocation is not offered
