Job summary

MSD is seeking a technician-level engineer to support the development of new automated systems for consumables manufacturing. You will assemble, test, calibrate, and repair precision electronic and electro-mechanical devices, and build and wire complex control panels.

You will design, fabricate, and assemble test fixtures and prototype systems, source components, and contribute to procedures. Excellent reading of wiring diagrams, use of meters, soldering, and lab tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; additional experience may substitute for the degree.
• Minimum 4 years of experience.
• Experience with prototype or low-volume electro-mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair precision electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
• Build and wire complex control panels and systems from drawings and guidelines.
• Design, fabricate, and assemble test fixtures and prototype systems.
• Source components based on performance specs and maintain inventories.
• Lead or contribute to development of assembly, test, calibration, and repair procedures.
• Follow lab safety policies and maintain safe working conditions.
• Duties may vary with departmental requirements.
