Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a hands-on technician to construct, debug, and test precision flow measurement and control instrumentation in a multi-disciplinary environment.

The role involves prototyping electro-mechanical packaging and building cable assemblies, with emphasis on using drawings and data analysis to drive improvements. The position requires 4+ years of related experience and an Associate degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
• Minimum of 4+ years of related experience.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work from drawings as well as written and verbal descriptions.
• Experience working with precision mechanical, electrical and electromechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with hand and small power tools, soldering stations.
• Experience with standard electronics testing equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
• Use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Construct, debug, and test precision flow measurement and control instrumentation.
• Work alongside engineers from multiple disciplines to understand issues and enhance performance of precision systems.
• Prototype advanced electro-mechanical packaging for precision products.
• Build cable assemblies; wire low-voltage power and communications connections.
• Design, debug, and implement new assembly processes (including documentation).
• Set up tests, collect and analyze data.
• General lab organization and maintenance.
