Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Anderson, SC seeks an Electro-Mechanical Service Technician to keep blow molding and injection systems running. You’ll diagnose hydraulics and pneumatics, maintain clamps, molds, and tooling, and perform efficient line changeovers while documenting repairs in CMMS. PLC/HMI/VFD troubleshooting and strict LOTO compliance are required.

You’ll work overtime and weekends as needed and contribute to TPM, Kaizen, and 5S improvements to maximize uptime and product quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical schooling or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years maintaining equipment in plastic blow molding or similar manufacturing.
  • Expert mechanical troubleshooting across hydraulics, pneumatics, and complex mechanisms.
  • Solid understanding of 480V power, motors, and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic faults quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain precision components: extruders, screws, barrels, die heads, clamps, molds.
  • Support conveyors, loaders, dryers, chillers, and other auxiliaries.
  • Execute mold changeovers, product startups, and full line changeovers.
  • Document all work and parts in CMMS for equipment history.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, HMIs, and VFDs.
  • Ensure electrical safety with LOTO and 480V system responsibilities.

As our Electro‑Mechanical Service Technician, you’ll blend mechanical savvy, electrical skill, and a reliability mindset to maximize uptime and quality—safely.Challenges you’ll tackleRestore performance on blow molding and injection machines by diagnosing hydraulic and pneumatic faults quickly and accurately.Maintain precision components—extruders, screws, barrels, die heads—as well as clamp systems, molds, and tooling.Ensure auxiliary equipment is dependable: conveyors, loaders, dryers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and vacuum pumps.Support downstream operations, including trimmers, leak testers, and automation cells.Execute efficient mold changeovers, product startups, and full line changeovers.Drive process optimization to cut scrap and shorten downtime.Prevent, predict, perfectCarry out PMs on schedule; use findings to prevent future failures.Document all work, parts, and asset conditions in the CMMS to build equipment history.Recommend reliability enhancements and standard fixes for recurring issues.Help create and refine PM procedures specific to blow molding assets.Electrical prowessTroubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, HMIs, VFDs, and basic robotics.Resolve issues with 480V systems, motors, sensors, relays, and control panels.Complete safe, code-aligned wiring, control panel, and instrumentation repairs.Safety and continuous improvementModel OSHA compliance and strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) discipline.Keep your workspace orderly and contribute to 5S, Kaizen, and TPM efforts.Engage in audits and inspections and follow through on action items.What qualifies youHigh school diploma or GED; technical schooling or certification preferred.3+ years maintaining equipment in plastic blow molding or similar manufacturing.Expert mechanical troubleshooting across hydraulics, pneumatics, and complex mechanisms.Solid understanding of 480V power, motors, and industrial controls.PLC exposure (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or comparable), with HMI and VFD familiarity.Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.Comfort with hand and power tools.Availability for overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.How you’ll think and act: a quick scenarioA downstream leak tester trips and upstream scrap rises. You pull the fault history from the HMI, verify sensor inputs at the PLC, check relay operation, and confirm VFD settings. After a quick pneumatic inspection, you identify a cracked line causing inconsistent clamping.
