Job summary

K2 Space Corporation seeks an Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturability for large satellite structures, develop first prototypes, design the build flow and fixturing, and transition methods to production. You will test new techniques for manufacturing large satellite structures, harnessing, mechanisms, and integrated electronics systems.

In your first 6 months you will develop manufacturing methods and tooling for integrated avionics systems, define manufacturing flows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering.
• 3+ years in high-volume manufacturing or design engineering.
• Experience setting up first article manufacturing and production floors.
• Experience designing avionics subassembly manufacturing including wire harness and PCB assembly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure DFM for flight hardware and tooling.
• Develop manufacturing systems for large spacecraft assemblies.
• Create tools and MES software to support manufacturing technologies.
• Demonstrate advanced manufacturing techniques on prototypes.
• Develop subassembly build flow and optimize production throughput.
• R&D of novel manufacturing technologies with cross-functional teams.
