Job summary

Whelen Engineering seeks an Electro-Mechanical Tech to troubleshoot and repair Whelen emergency lighting and siren devices. The role requires reading schematics and maintaining thorough documentation, working primarily from Chester, CT with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Candidates should have a High School diploma (or related technical schooling) and bend toward precise soldering and electrical assembly tasks, with regular lifting and teamwork in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High School w/1-3+ years’ experience or AA/AS/Technical School w/6 months experience.
• Able to read electronic assembly and schematic drawings.
• Must read and write in English.
• Normal color vision and various vision requirements relevant to electronics work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair Whelen emergency lighting and mechanical siren devices.
• Communicate and document design problems, component failures and initial failures on newly designed product.
• Maintain high work output without sacrificing quality.
• Complete all administrative functions related to documentation and regulatory requirements.
