Position Overview
The Electro Mechanical Manager oversees the facility, manufacturing equipment, machine processes, and related tooling. Responsibilities include scheduling repairs and projects, collaborating with the site manager to improve operational efficiency, and driving activities related to repair, maintenance, upgrades, and installation of plant machinery. The role involves technical tasks related to facility management, equipment maintenance, and machine processes, leading the Technician Supervisor, and supporting Blow Molding Technicians.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while using company resources.
- Lead and coordinate technicians' work assignments and documentation, including downtime reporting.
- Improve safety procedures and ensure adherence to OSHA standards.
- Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of machinery in conjunction with the Site Manager.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance work orders based on technical expertise and availability.
- Consult with senior management to resolve maintenance issues and improve machine conditions.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Inspect operating machines and equipment for compliance with standards.
- Research alternative suppliers and technologies for maintenance work.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and determine causes with recommendations.
- Participate in capital expenditure planning and review.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies for projects.
- Train staff on best practices for changeovers, setup, and operation of blow molding and downstream equipment.
- Manage facilities duties such as landscaping, janitorial, carpentry, HVAC, roofing, and security.
- Inspect building and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare management reports.
- Travel as needed to assist other locations with training or work assignments.
- Work evenings and weekends as required.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Technical or vocational degree/certificate with 10+ years of related manufacturing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of advanced mechanical principles, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic theories, and OSHA 70E NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanically operated machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and ancillary equipment.
