Position Overview
The Electro-Mechanical Manager oversees the facility, manufacturing equipment, machine processes, and related tooling. Responsibilities include assisting in scheduling repairs and projects, collaborating with the site manager to improve operational efficiency, and driving activities related to repair, maintenance, upgrade, and installation of plant machinery. This includes manufacturing equipment, facility maintenance, machine process controls, and tooling. The role involves executing technical tasks, directing the Technician Supervisor, and providing technical assistance to Blow Molding Technicians.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while using company resources.
- Lead and coordinate technicians' work assignments and documentation, including downtime reporting.
- Improve facility safety procedures and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of machinery in conjunction with the Site Manager.
- Evaluate work orders to prioritize tasks based on technical expertise and availability.
- Consult with senior management to resolve maintenance issues and improve equipment conditions.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Inspect operating machines for conformance with standards.
- Research alternative suppliers and maintenance methods for cost and quality optimization.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and determine causes and solutions.
- Participate in capital expenditure planning and recommend future investments.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies for projects.
- Assist in staff training on best practices for equipment changeover and setup.
- Manage facilities duties such as landscaping, janitorial, carpentry, HVAC, and security.
- Inspect building and equipment for repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare management reports.
- Travel as needed to support other locations.
- Work weekends and evenings as required.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Technical or vocational degree/certificate and 10+ years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic theories, and OSHA 70E NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanically operated machinery and PLC-controlled equipment.
