Job summary

Amcor in Asheville (NC) is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair and optimize electrical control systems, motors, drives and PLCs. You will support preventive maintenance and document work in our CMMS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical/electronics preferred.
  • 3+ years as an electrical technician in manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely with high-voltage systems and equipment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on electrical and control systems.
  • Install, modify, and maintain motors, drives, PLCs, and related equipment.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records.
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities for equipment reliability and efficiency.
