Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Hazleton, PA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to keep essential production equipment running safely and efficiently, because uptime matters.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC systems, handle repairs, document work orders, and support start-ups, changeovers, and continuous improvement with Production and Engineering.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing/food production.
• Proven mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting acumen.
• Competence with mechanical/electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
• Fluency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical literature.
• Comfort with hand and power tools, precision measurement, and diagnostic instruments.
• Organized, solutions-focused, and effective both solo and on a team.
• Willingness to cover overtime, weekends, and holidays as operations require.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard uptime with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Tackle faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC domains.
• Restore operation quickly after equipment failure and prevent recurrence.
• Record maintenance work orders and equipment histories accurately.
• Assist with equipment installations, testing, and start-up.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to improve reliability.
• Contribute to planned shutdowns and changeovers.
• Maintain 5S and safe, orderly workspace.
• Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Capabilities We Value Baseline

• Background with PLCs, automation systems, VFDs, robotics, and industrial controls.
• Recognized skilled-trade certifications (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Welding, etc.).
• Experience in food manufacturing and understanding of GMPs.

Physical Realities of the Role

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb regularly.
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs on a routine basis.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
• Wear required PPE consistently.
