Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer to support a mission-critical public safety and physical security program across Norfolk, VA or San Diego, CA.

You will join a large technical team delivering reliable, high-quality service, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic defense environment. The role emphasizes curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration, offering hands-on experience in system diagnostics, maintenance, and procedures while supporting on-site

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering; related technical fields may be acceptable if requirements are met.
• Foundational engineering principles, product lifecycle support, integration, verification and validation, and system sustainment knowledge.
• Ability to support system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Familiarity with electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 50%.
• Interest in learning about Access-controlled gates, CCTV, PLCs, and electronic security systems.

Responsibilities

• Travel as needed and work with integrated electronic systems and support teams to provide on-site and remote technical support to field engineers and technicians worldwide.
• Support hardware and software baseline and configuration management activities.
• Continue developing knowledge and experience to become a future subject matter expert.
• Develop clear, accurate, and testable operating procedures.
• Support software analysis, testing, debugging, maintenance, and limited programming activities.
• Help identify application issues, support solution development, and assist with implementing approved changes.
• Respond to corrective and preventive maintenance service calls.
• Meet contract service level agreement requirements.
