Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Staff Commodity Manager – Key Technologies (Electro‑Mechanical) to lead global sourcing for precision electro‑mechanical components and assemblies. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to align strategies with product performance and cost objectives, and to support New Product Introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in engineering, manufacturing, supplier engineering, or strategic sourcing.
• Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical components and processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and process docs.
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, molding, electromechanical assembly, automation, testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing and supplier strategy for the Key Technologies (Electro‑Mechanical) commodity portfolio.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to align sourcing strategies with product performance and objectives.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, automation, capacity, and quality systems.
• Drive value engineering, design‑to‑cost, should‑cost modeling, and supplier innovation to improve product performance and reduce total cost.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), supplier qualification, component transfers, dual‑sourcing, and risk mitigation projects across global manufacturing sites.
• Lead RFQ activities with a strong focus on technical evaluation, manufacturing feasibility, quality requirements, total cost, and supplier scalability.
• Develop deep knowledge of electro‑mechanical technologies, manufacturing methods, materials, and industry cost drivers to influence sourcing and engineering decisions.
