Job summary

Aptar is seeking a Mechanic I/II to maintain electrical and electro-mechanical production machinery in Cary, IL. The role includes running and inspecting machines, assisting with troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and quality of produced goods.

You will perform preventive maintenance, update maintenance records in SAP/TMP, and support the team with changeovers and production scheduling. English communication and basic math/PC skills are required.

Qualifications

• Basic troubleshooting and electrical sensor replacement experience.
• Certified Operator I with ability to run a machine for setup.
• Mechanical skills/aptitude demonstrated by testing.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to stand, walk, lift, bend and stoop throughout shift.
• Able to climb steps and hear warning signals.
• Ability to read, write and speak English for quality and production.
• Able to read various inspection gauges and perform basic math/PC tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions of Operator and/or Material Handler.
• Runs and inspects machines in production area and assists with minor troubleshooting under Assembly Mechanic II direction.
• Assists with parts and tooling changeovers.
• Opens work orders and issues parts.
• Cleans, inspects and lubricates high-speed equipment.
• Rebuilds machine/mechanical components.
• Performs restorative maintenance.
• Creates maintenance records in SAP/TMP.
• Responsible for product safety and quality of goods produced.
• Assists Assembly Mechanic II with preventative maintenance.
• Prints and interprets production schedules.
• Assists team lead and may fill in as necessary/based on business need.
• Completes and emails production log as required.
