Job summary

L3HHCM20 in Ashaway, RI seeks an Assembly A to assemble electrical/electronic components for military sonar systems and commercial equipment under supervision, using fixtures, jigs, hand tools and test equipment.

You will read work instructions and drawings, perform wire harnessing, soldering, cable assembly, measure with calipers, and conduct functional tests. Training opportunities lead toward Expert/Master levels.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/associate degree education with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints; interpret specifications and procedures.
• Experience assembling electrical/electronic components, wiring, harnessing, soldering and using test equipment.
• IPC J-STD-001 solder certification preferred or requiring ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assemble printed wiring boards using surface-mount hardware and soldering tools.
• Cut wires to specified lengths and insulate ends with sleeves.
• Crimp terminals and conduct functional/continuity tests on assemblies.
• Follow blueprints and specifications to maintain tolerances.
• Train others on assembly procedures as certifications are achieved.
• Maintain safety and quality standards per company procedures.
