Job summary

MKS Instruments is hiring an Assembler 2 to join the Optical Filters Business Unit. You will work with Operations to perform a range of intermediate and finishing assembly tasks and report to the Production Manager.

The role emphasizes electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, testing and quality checks in a manufacturing setting. Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with reading drawings, soldering and cable harnessing, and can operate within blueprints to maintain precise tolerances.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience required.
• Requires production experience with vocational instruction in electro-mechanical assembly, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, ability to work from established drawings, and experience in soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
• Determine and follow methods and sequence of operations in wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing.
• Make set-ups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
• Test equipment and products per standard operating procedures.
• Clean optical components, inspect surface quality and perform dimensional analysis per customer specifications.
