Job summary

Ultipro seeks an Electromechanical Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC production equipment and electromechanical control systems in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates read blueprints, troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, work with three-phase power, and perform electrical/mechanical repairs while contributing to continuous improvements and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC manufacturing equipment, PLCs, motor controls and mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of programming PLCs, HMIs as well as PC based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test and repair electronic production equipment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as required to maintain all processes in the factory.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all electromechanical control systems in the factory.
  • Notify appropriate management personnel and assist in the solution of the problems.
  • Contribute ideas for improvements in all areas using the appropriate means of communication.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in performance of all job functions.
  • Familiar with PLC’s and able to log onto PLC controlled system (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • De-bugging, running off, and installation of new and rebuilt equipment.
  • Assist in the termination and hook-up of equipment as required.

Job description

Electromechanical Technicians maintain and repair electromechanical drives, sensors and automated machinery while working with maintenance and engineers to install and evaluate electromechanical systems to support the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, test and repair electronic production equipment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as required to maintain all processes in the factory.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all electromechanical control systems in the factory.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing CNC manufacturing equipment, PLCs, motor controls and mechanical assemblies
  • Knowledge of programming PLC’s, HMI’s as well as PC based systems, a plus
  • Experience working with three phase power as well as a variety of different control voltages, Required
  • Ability to use all shop tools
  • Ability to use all testing and measuring equipment and tools required to maintain or repair electromechanical control systems

Lifting: Must be able to lift, carry and manipulate objects 51-100 lbs.

Lifting: Must be able to lift, carry and manipulate objects 101+ lbs.

Pulling/Pushing: Will transport loads up to XX lbs., at times with the use of rollers, hand jacks or other equipment.

Work Environment: General manufacturing conditions where there are continuously moving mechanical parts and material moving equipment with continuous loud noise.
