Job summary

Ecore-International in Pennsylvania is seeking an Electro-mechanic II to lead electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment. You will troubleshoot PLC systems, read schematics, and support facility maintenance including basic plumbing and carpentry.

The role demands 5+ years in electro-mechanical work, ability to read diagrams, install VFDs and PLCs (Allen Bradley), and to work under safety policies in a demanding manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electro-mechanics (or similar area) or Apprenticeship in Electromechanical Maintenance or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent years of experience (5 years industrial electromechanical experience in a similar working environment)
• 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools and equipment
• Able to read, make and modify: electrical line diagrams, schematics and blue prints
• Experience installing and modifying Variable Frequency Drives (VFD); installing, trouble shooting and programming PLC (Allen Bradley, etc.)and sequential programming devices
• Experience with running conduit, relays, terminations, controls wiring,and motor control experience
• Advanced knowledge of AC and DC motor drive controls
• Ability to use all multi-meter, amp-meter, oscilloscope and other electrical test tools necessary
• Knowledge and experience working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Strong problem solving ability
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
• Ability to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces, etc.)
• Strong computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel
• Experience in major upgrades/revisions both mechanically and with control systems
• Valid PA driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission

Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance: Perform testing, diagnostic, maintenance and revision (programming) work on machine tools and systems including: NC and CNC controls, PLC hardware and software, control circuits, electro/mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Perform maintenance and repairs on plant power distribution systems.
• Corrective and breakdown maintenance of all equipment: Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor's instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices.
• Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part. Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part.
• Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction. Basic fabrication and repair of all necessary equipment.
• Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment, following preventive maintenance schedule to ensure all machinery is in good, safe working order.
• Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds (including snow removal, basic plumbing, HVAC and basic carpentry, etc.).
• Installing, troubleshooting and upgrading of all equipment; Ability to install conduit, electrical wiring, air/water/hydraulic piping or any additional systems required for proper machine installation with minimal direction from engineering or supervision.
• Read blue prints, schematic drawings and diagrams in order to properly and safely install machinery.
• Assembles and test operates machine to verify safe working order and proper functionality.
• Mentor and lead Maintenance team members as needed and within area of expertise.

Job Summary

The Electro-mechanic II takes a lead role when working with Electrical systems and Maintenance teams. This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical installations, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment.The Electro-mechanic II must have understanding of Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems, ladder logic and have the ability to troubleshoot , repair these systems. In addition, this position will support the overall facility maintenance including but not limited to: basic plumbing, snow removal, event preparation, basic construction, painting, etc. Using their experience and strong work ethic, they will take complete ownership of the job; planning work around production schedules, working with a sense of urgency to focus on ensuring continuous production. Theywill have a genuine desire to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently, utilizing good work practices as part of a maintenance team or when working independently with minimal supervision.This position must adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies. Additional responsibilities will include: periodic training of proper system and machine operation and maintenance, assistance with creating SOP and other related documentation and cross-training into other job functions as needed.This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling. Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
