Job summary

Caterpillar in Mossville, IL is seeking a Control Systems Application Engineer to support development and calibration of Electro-Hydraulic Steering and steer-by-wire machines. You will collaborate with hardware, hydraulics, and software teams to optimize system performance and safety.

Using MATLAB/Simulink, you will develop baseline calibrations, perform on-machine tuning, and validate results. This full-time role requires relocation to Mossville and offers travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineering or related field.
• Experience in embedded control systems for mobile equipment or automotive apps.
• Experience with Model-based software tools (MATLAB/Simulink) and AUTOSAR.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply EH Steering team processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with product groups to gather kinematic data and nuances.
• Develop baseline steering calibrations using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Support on‑machine tuning, ensuring performance and acceptance.
• Coordinate with hardware, hydraulics and software teams for system limits.
• Assist safety testing, validation, and documentation.
