Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Testing and Validation Engineer for the Electrification Engineering Test Team at the Tucson Proving Ground in Green Valley, AZ. You will support testing, development, and installation of stationary infrastructure, collaborating with engineers to ensure proper system integration.

You will lead safety and quality improvements, develop test plans, and leverage data to drive insights, while mentoring interns and coordinating with external teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing or validation within heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery.
• Experience designing and executing testing strategies.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to machine software and controls.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to analyze complex technical issues, evaluate test results, and develop effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive Safety & Quality by making safety a top priority and creating job procedures for system testing, installation, and maintenance.
• Lead Testing Projects by planning and executing testing for current and next generation charging solutions.
• Collaborate & Innovate with on-site engineers, technicians, and operators to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Leverage Data using tools like Excel, Tableau, DATK, CANape to turn raw data into actionable insights.
• Solve Complex Challenges by troubleshooting and validating electrical, electronic, and software systems.
• Own the Process by developing test plans, documenting standard work, and analyzing results.
